In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the victory of war against Japanese agression and World War II.
The Japanese 731 Bacteriological Warfare Unit was built in Pingfang District, Harbin City during the Japanese war of aggression. Its specific purpose was research into biological warfare and experimentations on live "guinea pigs". Between 1935 and 1945 at least 3 000 people died in various biological experiments.
