N1  - "June 2012"; The Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) is an informal network of states committed to preventing the ‘trafficking of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), their delivery systems, and related materials to and from states and non-state actors of proliferation concern’. The main goal of the PSI is to strengthen the individual and collective capacities of participating states to interdict proliferation-related components at sea, in the air or on land once they have left their state of origin. Interdiction is broadly defined as any actions that result in the denial, delay or disruption of a shipment of proliferation concern; The  EU Non-Proliferation Consortium is a network of foreign policy institutions and research centres from across the EU engaged in political and security-related dialogue and discussion of measures to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their delivery systems. The Consortium is managed jointly by SIPRI and three other institutes, in close cooperation with the representative of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The three institutes are the Fondation pour la recherche stratégique in Paris, the Peace Research Institute in Frankfurt (HSFK/PRIF), and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London
