N1  - SIP1305; Parallell title and text in English and Korean; The year 2011 has marked a turning point in the relations between the Republic of Korea and the European Union by the ratification of the ROK-EU Free Trade Agreement. Having been negotiated since 2007, the ROK-EU FTA finally made it possible for both sides to come closer to each other by making the most out of an integrated market with multiple economic benefits. In addition, the revision of the Framework Agreement upgraded the ROK-EU’s bilateral relationship to a strategic partnership, acknowledging each other as partners sharing essential values in democracy and human rights. This report is the result of the 1st ROK-EU Leaders Forum held on November 3rd 2011 to assess what has been done since the ROK-EU FTA took effect and to find ways to expand mutual cooperation in various fields and promote better relations between the two based upon the agreement.; "December 2012"
