The Management Handbook for UN Field Missions is a project of the International Peace Institute (IPI) aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of UN peace and security efforts across the globe. Since its founding in 1970, IPI (then named the International Peace Academy, IPA) has worked to improve UN peace operations. In fact, IPA developed the very first handbook for UN peacekeepers, The Peacekeeper’s Handbook, in 1978.
