JASON was asked to address the development of a research roadmap that would provide an underpinning for improved microbial forensic capabilities. The task scenario focused on Francisella tularensis, the bacterial agent that causes tularemia (rabbit fever). F. tularensis is a Select Agent, and considered to be a serious bioterrorism threat.
