500 | _aThe Australian Government’s Asia Pacific Civil-Military Centre of Excellence hosted the 3rd International Forum for the Challenges of Peace Operations in Queanbeyan, Australia, from 27 to 29 April 2010. The Challenges Forum, held annually, is organized by the Challenges Partnership, a diverse network of civilian, military and police organizations from 17 countries, coordinated by the Forum Secretariat at the Folke Bernadotte Academy, Sweden. The Partnership is dedicated to enhancing an understanding of peace operations – particularly UN-mandated peacekeeping missions – and to improving operational outcomes that contribute to sustainable peace. The theme of the 3rd International Forum was the Challenges of Strengthening the Protection of Civilians in Multidimensional Peace Operations. | ||
